MALAYSIAN OPERATIONS
The principal activities of the Malaysian Operations are :- |
| MBF Cards (M'sia) Sdn Bhd - The Card and Payment Services Division is operated through MBF Cards (M'sia) Sdn Bhd ("MBF Cards"). MBF Cards is a leading player in the Malaysian credit card industry and is now the ninth largest issuer out of 19 players in the market and is ranked third out of 11 acquirers in the merchant acquiring business. |
| MBF Cards commenced operations in July 1987 with a licence from MasterCard International and in June 2001 was the first mono-line and non-bank institution to be awarded a Visa card licence in Malaysia and the Asean region. On 30 June 2006 MBF Cards was granted a licence by the Central Bank of Malaysia, Bank Negara Malaysia to issue credit cards via its own line of credit on 3 October 2006. |
| MBF Cards is actively and consistently improvising its products and services to increase its cardmember and merchant base. MBF Cards continues to offer value propositions for its existing and potential cardmembers by offering services and aspirational products via the Xtreme Deals catalogue at affordable and much discounted prices directly to cardmembers on zero percent interest installment plan. |
| Currently MBF Cards has about 500,000 cards-in-circulation and has a merchant-in-force of about 33,000. To support the business, MBF Cards has about 850 staffs and a nationwide network of 28 branches with 8 located in East Malaysia. It was accredited with the ISO 9002 certification in 1995. |
| MBf Printing Industry Sdn Bhd - The company's principal activities are printing and manufacturing of packaging materials and commercial printing. It had been awarded the certificate by the American Institute of Baking enhancing hygienic manufacturing and printing practices. Its major clientele comprised customers in the fast food, household & personal care, tobacco packaging and bottle labels. Amongst its major customers are Perseco Asia Pacific & Japan (supplying packaging boxes for McDonalds' products), KFC-Malaysia & Singapore and Cadbury Confectionery Malaysia. MBf Printing is currently supplying packaging to the whole Asia Pacific region which includes Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Japan and Papua New Guinea. MBf Printing is in the midst of going through the implementation of the ISO9001-2008 Standard and ISO14000. |
